Inside Merchant Services Sales Advisor

Location: For Those Who Work At Home - Various, New York 14226 ***Incumbent must be located in the Capital region of NY (Greater Albany area)*** Job Summary The Inside Merchant Sales Advisor focuses on growing client relationships with payment and card processing needs. Serves as a member of an Inside Sales team, virtually working as a trusted advisor with partners and clients across Key's Consumer footprint, providing recommendations and solutions to help Small Businesses achieve their goals; will resolve client issues and execute appropriate action to ensure client satisfaction. Partners with various functional groups and lines of business throughout the bank for growth opportunities. Responsibilities Acquire new merchant services relationships through referrals from KeyBank banking centers and through prospecting external sources within the sales representative's assigned territory including outbound calling/communicating; will actively participate in specialized campaigns, working lead lists and referrals from Retail branch, Business Banking, Private Banking and Treasury Present and sell merchant payment processing, including but not limited to credit card, check processing, gift cards, ACH and the corresponding hardware and software products to small and medium size businesses Consults with prospective businesses in identifying the proper payment solution to meet the business needs Identifies other banking needs and works with available KeyBank resources and partners to deliver solutions that meet those needs Prospects small and medium size businesses in sale representative's assigned region to supplement bank referrals Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key. Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in training and experience (required) Experience Qualifications 1-3 years payments related experience in a banking environment (required) 1-3 years success in a client focused environment with aggressive growth and service goals (required) Tactical Skills Strong financial acumen including the ability to read and understand financial statements Exceptional negotiating and closing skills Strong communication skills Personal Skills Influence: Describes key concepts of influencing and has the ability to identify key players and decision makers Persuasion: Describes the importance of listening to communicate for impact and selects most appropriate communication approach depending on message and audience Collaboration: Demonstrates experience in participating in productive collaborative processes that help solve business problems and meet business goals Practical Skills Oral & Written Communication: Demonstrates the ability to speak, write, and present in a way that effectively conveys the intended message to an audience Core Competencies All KeyBank employees are expected to demonstrate Key’s Values and sustain proficiency in identified Leadership Competencies. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $26.45 to $31.73 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
