Key Responsibilities Design and deliver high-quality online instruction that meets the diverse needs of K-6 students Create engaging and interactive lesson plans that promote student motivation and achievement Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instruction to meet individual needs Foster a positive and inclusive online learning environment that encourages student participation and collaboration Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues through various digital channels Stay up-to-date with best practices in online teaching and learning, and participate in ongoing professional development Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement successful online instruction, and share resources and expertise Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A valid Arizona Elementary Certificate (K-8) or Arizona Early Childhood Certificate (Birth to Age-8) for grades K-3, or a valid Arizona Elementary Certificate (K-8) for grades 4-5 An Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Certain endorsement/approved areas(s) may be required for highly qualified/appropriately certified purposes A strong understanding of online teaching and learning principles, and the ability to adapt to a virtual environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience teaching in a virtual environment, with a proven track record of success Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement, which can be an asset in supporting diverse student populations What We Offer As a valued member of our team, you will enjoy: A competitive salary, with a starting compensation package that reflects your experience and qualifications A comprehensive benefits package, including opportunities for professional growth and development A flexible and dynamic work environment that allows you to work from anywhere, at any time A collaborative and supportive team that is passionate about making a difference in the lives of students Opportunities for career advancement and professional growth, as we continue to expand and evolve our Virtual Academy Work Environment and Company Culture At Tucson Unified School District, we are committed to creating a culture that is inclusive, supportive, and empowering. Additional Requirements After hire, you will be required to provide proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization. Contract Details This position is funded through the ESSER Grant, which is expected to last for three years. The contract is for a 1.0 FTE position, with a 9.5-month work calendar, and a daily schedule of 7.5 hours. Please note that positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits. Salary and Benefits Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language. Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
