Job Summary:

The Innovation Lead Programmer will lead and influence a team of developers in the design, delivery, and operation of highly reliable software that will modernize our operations. This role will serve as a liaison between the Development Team and other departments to ensure alignment and meet ongoing delivery expectations. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert with a collaborative mindset, able to work with various teams across the organization and provide tools to support our operations.

Key Responsibilities:


Provide accurate development estimates and support project planning activities
Design, maintain, review, and approve application architectures in collaboration with Solution Architects and shared services teams
Develop, maintain, and review software with a focus on quality and effectiveness
Develop, maintain, review, and execute unit, functional, and integration tests with a focus on automation and test-driven development
Provide technical oversight for performance testing, ensuring design and results align with anticipated non-functional requirements
Analyze new technologies that could improve applications and development activities
Identify and resolve technical debt as appropriate, weighing development effort against value returned
Mentor and guide the Development Team on relevant architecture, design, development, and operations topics
Assess code to ensure it is valid, properly structured, meets industry standards, and is compatible with programs, devices, or operating systems


Requirements:


Advanced knowledge of software development principles, practices, concepts, and technologies
Advanced knowledge of at least one programming language and broad knowledge of at least one additional programming language
Knowledge of project management process and principles
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to staying ahead of issues
Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate clear direction and needs to technical, non-technical, and executive audiences
Ability to lead ideation, demonstrate, and facilitate group thinking sessions
Ability to influence without authority up to Senior Management levels to achieve desired business results
Ability to lead multiple efforts simultaneously, whether administrative or project-related, while maintaining a high level of completion in their own work


Education and Experience:


Required: High School Diploma or GED
Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent traditional training
Required: Master-level experience, broad and extensive knowledge in computer programming
Preferred: experience in AWS Cloud, SaaS, Microservice Architecture, Serverless, NodeJS/Javascript, Python, and SAFe Agile framework
