This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Infrastructure Engineer (Remote NC) in the United States. This role is ideal for a skilled infrastructure professional responsible for managing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise-level cloud, network, and on-premises environments. You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of IT infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions. This position offers exposure to advanced cloud platforms, network architecture, and cybersecurity practices, with opportunities to lead projects and influence infrastructure strategy. You will provide expert-level technical support, troubleshoot complex systems, and implement best practices across cloud and core network infrastructure. The role combines operational excellence, project delivery, and mentorship in a dynamic and collaborative remote work environment, with occasional travel to the Asheville, NC office. • Accountabilities • Provision, install, configure, operate, and maintain systems, network hardware, security tools, and cloud computing environments. • Design, implement, and optimize core network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and hybrid cloud connectivity. • Provide Tier-3 support for escalated issues, coordinate after-hours maintenance, and participate in 24x7 on-call rotations. • Collaborate with DevOps, cloud engineers, and cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable production environments. • Develop and maintain documentation, change management processes, and operational procedures. • Plan and execute infrastructure projects, including acquisitions, circuit cutovers, and large-scale network upgrades. • Implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, performing audits and validation of network and security systems. • Mentor team members, conduct knowledge transfers, and promote best practices across infrastructure operations. • * Requirements • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. • Minimum 5 years of experience in Azure Cloud system/server engineering, network infrastructure, or a combination thereof. • Strong expertise in Linux, Windows, Azure Cloud, Office 365, and networking technologies (firewalls, switches, routing, DNS/DHCP). • Scripting experience, especially in PowerShell. • Familiarity with cloud and core network security models, VPCs, and disaster recovery practices. • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex systems and implement solutions with minimal downtime. • Strong critical thinking, multitasking, organizational, and communication skills. • Preferred certifications: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Fundamentals, CCNP, Fortinet, Aruba, or CompTIA Network+. • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and provide mentorship to team members. • Residency near Asheville, NC with occasional travel to the office. • * Benefits • Fully remote work with flexible scheduling within Eastern Time hours. • Opportunity to work on complex, high-impact infrastructure projects. • Exposure to advanced cloud, networking, and security technologies. • Professional development and mentorship opportunities. • Competitive compensation based on qualifications and experience.
