Engineering - Technology at Coda

Our tech stack is solidly based on AWS cloud, with a keen interest in infrastructure-as-code and the creation of new microservices via the Quarkus framework. Our toolbox includes JSON and GRPC, multiple data storage integrations, queues, OpenTelemetry, and more.

Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure for high-traffic, geographically distributed workloads
Automate infrastructure creation and management using Terraform or other IaC tools
Optimize cloud infrastructure costs while maintaining performance and reliability
Design and implement disaster recovery and backup solutions
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment
Proactively identify and rectify risks within infrastructure, networks and security
Continuously improve existing architecture, systems and processes
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical decision-making
Participate in on-call rotation for production support
Troubleshoot systems and solve problems across platform and application domains


Required Skills & Experience

3+ years hands-on experience with AWS services including: EC2, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway / RDS, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, ElastiCache / VPC, Route53, CloudFront, SQS, SNS /IAM, KMS, Security Groups, WAF /CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Config, SSO
2+ years of experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure as code tools (CloudFormation, Serverless Framework, Pulumi)
Strong Linux/Unix administration skills
Strong understanding of networking concepts and security best practices
Understanding of cryptography concepts including: Public key infrastructure (PKI) and asymmetric encryption / TLS certificate management and lifecycleEnd-to-end encryption / Envelope encryption and key management systems
Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, JavaScript)
Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (ECS, Kubernetes)
Experience with monitoring and observability tools (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)
Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Salt, Puppet, Chef)


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with high-traffic, distributed systems
Knowledge of payment industry security standards (PCI-DSS)
Experience with edge cloud services (Cloudflare, Akami)
Contributions to open-source projects
Experience with performance tuning and optimization
Knowledge of financial technology domain
Great communication skills
