Job title: PostGres Database Administrator - Remote Company: Infinity Consulting Solutions Job description: Job Description - PostGres Database Administrator - Remote TITLE: PostGres Database Administrator Location: Remote in the U.S. ICS is hiring a PostGres DBA to join our healthcare software client’s team! You will define improvements to increase system reliability, security, and performance. Document the design, operation, and troubleshooting of Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption. Function as a primary ‘practitioner coach’ on the team to grow the capabilities of other members on the team. What You’ll Do: • Database Administration including • Proactive performance and resource monitoring • Backup, high availability, and disaster recovery • Configuring and monitoring replication clusters • Security and compliance reviews • Performance and load testing for table/index designs • Partitioning, sharding, and multi-server setup Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve failed tasks or database issues on a variety of database engines including Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB (MySQL) • May create a database, assign permissions, and resolve connectivity issues Grow the current data warehouse design and implementation, as well as suggest improvements • Experience with ETL/ELT with modern analytics architecture • Work with / mentor development teams on performance tuning and optimization Skills / Experience You Will Need: • Microsoft SQL Server - 2012 up to at least SQL 2016, 5+ years • Experience in supporting large databases and distributed data environments • PostgreSQL, 5+ years • Extensive experience in performance and reliability improvements on multiple database engines including Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MariaDB (MySQL) - 5+ years • Microsoft SQL Management Studio, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS • Microsoft SQL Extended Events, other monitoring/performance tools • DevOps deployments and pipelines • Experience with database version control or data governance • Ability to work in a complex production environment with multiple integrated systems • Cognizant of security and compliance in a HITRUST/HIPAA/SOC2 Production environment • Occasional after-hours deployments • Ability to thrive in a heavily regulated environment (HITRUST/HIPAA/SOC2) • Able to work solo and in a close team environment at the project and ad-hoc level • Good documentation skills and willingness to provide it • Self-starter and well-disciplined • Good troubleshooting skills in a complex environment with thousands of servers and SQL instances • Ability to handle multi-tasking workloads and sources of work • Willingness to learn new systems and processes About Infinity Consulting Solutions At Infinity Consulting Solutions our mission is to cultivate successful long term relationships with candidates and clients matching the right candidate with the right client.
