Job Description: As a School-Based Special Education Teacher in Lawrence, KS, you will design and implement personalized educational programs for students with disabilities. Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students, ensuring compliance with Kansas state regulations and federal laws.
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of each student, both in individual and group settings.
Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and parents to support student progress and educational goals.
Conduct assessments and utilize data to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights and professional recommendations for student development.
Maintain detailed records of student progress, ensuring adherence to all reporting and documentation requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
Valid Kansas Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement.
Minimum of one year of experience as a Special Education Teacher.
Strong understanding of Kansas special education laws and regulations.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and engage with families to support student success.
