JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and supporting the integrity of IMS’ accounting operations. This role is a key contributor to the monthly close process and is responsible for journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintaining general ledger accuracy. The Senior Accountant also partners closely with Accounts Payable and cross functional teams, supports audits, and contributes to process improvements and integration efforts related to acquired entities. The ideal candidate is detail focused, deadline driven, and takes ownership of accounting processes from start to finish. They are comfortable balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and communicating effectively across teams. Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and post journal entries with supporting analysis Support and participate in the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules Partner with and provide guidance to the Accounts Payable team Respond to internal and external information requests in a timely manner Support internal and external audits, including documentation and reconciliation support Ensure accounting activities comply with GAAP and internal controls Participate in accounting and system integrations for mergers and acquisitions Support accounting projects such as purchase accounting and process improvements Assist with ad hoc accounting initiatives as business needs evolve COMPETENCIES: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of numerical accuracy Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively under pressure in a deadline driven environment Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end accounting processes Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and implement process improvements Highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative; able to work effectively across all levels of the organization SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial data accurately Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines Experience working under pressure with competing priorities Proven ability to take initiative and drive projects to completion Collaborative team player with the ability to work across all levels of the organization High level of accountability, energy, and motivation EDUCATION & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience Experience in a law firm or consulting environment is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Experience with Intacct or similar accounting systems preferred Strong working knowledge of GAAP CPA or progress towards a CPA is preferred but not required LOCATION: This position is 100% remote and supports east to west coast time zones Our Employer Value Proposition Includes Competitive compensation package with 401K match Flexible PTO and 12 paid holidays Robust health and welfare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, HSA, short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance, all with generous company contributions Career development programs supported through an integrated Learning Platform Talent Identification Program to recognize and reward our high-performing, high-potential team members through career growth opportunities and unique development experiences Values-driven culture based on respect, care, growth, and excellence IMS Legal Strategies is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
