Salem, NJ 08079 Start date October 3, 2023 Reports To: NJTC Site Director Subordinate Staff: Tutors BASIC FUNCTION The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-dosage tutoring for K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. The New Jersey Tutoring Corps seeks to hire tutors to work with scholars in partnership with the district schools. Tutors will work with small groups of scholars, typically in groups of 1-5, in grades K-8 in building skills in math and literacy ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Develop strong relationships with the site staff and community. Ensures that tutors have the necessary materials needed to help scholars succeed. Completes and submits digital records of tutor and scholar attendance, scholar rosters, and site concerns. Works closely with program staff and participates in weekly meetings with other Site Coordinators and/or Instructional Coaches. Manages the tutor's work schedules. Apprises the NJTC Program Director of staff of issues immediately and helps work to resolve them. Ensure that tutors are using all materials needed to help scholars succeed. Observe tutoring and provide constructive feedback to tutors. Assist tutors with data-driven instruction using iReady. QUALIFICATIONS Required Qualifications: Bachelor?s or Master's degree in the field of education Experience teaching New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form) Past history of overseeing the work of others Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Undergo background check for I9 status to work in the United States, criminal history check (fingerprints) or provide fingerprint certificate if criminal history check is already in place Reliable transportation to and from work sites.
