We are located on 1.5 acres of land at 5000 Ridgedale Parkway in North Chesterfield, VA. With up to 104 students, from ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. Duties

The School Age

Teacher position must have 24 clock hours of training related to the care of children within 1 month after hire or promotion to be considered a Lead. If the person applying for this position wishes to be an assistant, you must have 16 hours of annual training hours 1 month after hire or promotion. The applicants applying for this position must be personable, reliable and child oriented. This position could be a Full or Part-Time position. If you are applying for only part-time, we would need you for 4 hours a day Monday-Friday (2hrs am and 2hrs pm). Additional hours are available if the person we hire is flexible and desires Full Time hours. If the person for this position desires Full Time hours, this person must be comfortable working with any age group. You must also be willing to work at any compacity needed rather it is cleaning, cooking, and assisting with children.

Requirements

Candidates for this position must have Proven ability to work effectively and professionally with children, families, and adult staff. Demonstrated skills in effective communication, both written and verbal. Maintain safety and ensures the welfare of all enrolled children, supervision of children during all activities. Aid in the upkeep of appropriate standards for children's discipline and behavior standards using non-punitive methods. Day-to-day procedure; including maintaining a well-balanced and effective work environment.

Curriculum: planning, implementation, and documentation and evaluation such as arts and crafts, group time, science, indoor and outdoor games, snack and lunch, rest period as indicated by the Director. Lesson plans, curriculum plans, supply requests, etc., are completed on time. Develops and maintains professional relationships with classroom teachers, program co-workers, families, and other staff members. Attends all staff meetings and other work-related functions as required. Assists in sustaining and providing regular testing of emergency response plan. Continues to develop professional self. Able to lift 40 lbs. Other responsibilities as assigned.

For this position you must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check, Child Protective Services Background Check, and a Skin Tuberculosis test. Furthermore, for these positions it is required that the teacher must complete 13 hours of online training upon being hired. This training must be completed before you are able to start work (on site paid training). Reliable transportation is necessary, and you must truly desire to work with children in a childcare setting.

Nice To Haves

Individuals with an associate degree in early childhood education or working towards one is preferred. However, this is not a requirement we will accept someone with documented experience.
