Job Description We're seeking an experienced and motivated full-time Ecological Risk Assessor to become an integral member of our risk assessment and remediation practices. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting a wide range of projects for private and government clients throughout the U.S. and internationally. Your expertise will be essential in performing ecological risk assessments in accordance with regulatory guidance and project-specific work plans. Key Responsibilities: Support a diverse range of projects for private and government clients, including those related to environmental consulting, infrastructure development, and sustainable solutions. Perform ecological risk assessments in accordance with regulatory guidance and project-specific work plans, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Develop Risk Assessment Work Plans and contribute to Sampling and Analysis Plans/Quality Assurance Project Plans, demonstrating your expertise in environmental consulting. Successfully coordinate with internal project teams, including delegating to junior staff, to ensure seamless project execution. Prepare technical deliverables, including writing reports and performing/reviewing risk assessment calculations, to meet project requirements and client expectations. Maintain knowledge of federal and state regulations/guidance documents for conducting risk assessments, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices. Maintain work quality, quantity, and efficiency at or above company standards, consistently delivering high-quality results. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ecotoxicology, Ecology, Zoology, Environmental Science/Studies, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, Zoology, or other related area. At least 6 years of experience performing ecological risk assessments in an environmental consulting setting or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. Applied knowledge of USEPA guidance for conducting ecological risk assessment, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements. Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required, and a valid Driver's License is necessary for travel to project sites. Preferred Qualifications: Master's or PhD degree in Ecotoxicology, Ecology, Zoology, Environmental Science/Studies, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, Zoology, or other related area. Experience conducting food web/bioaccumulation assessments, with a strong understanding of ecological principles and risk assessment methodologies. Experience performing data analysis and applied statistics, with proficiency in statistical software and programming languages. Excellent technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and presentations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience using other software applications relevant to environmental consulting. Experience evaluating PFAS, PCBs, mercury, or other environmental contaminants, with a strong understanding of their ecological impacts. Experience working on Department of Defense projects, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and project management principles. Site investigation and field sampling experience, with a strong understanding of sampling methodologies and data collection techniques.
