About the Role As a Middle School Advisor at Hillside Public Schools, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students. You will be responsible for guiding and supporting students in various aspects of their middle school experience, from academic achievement to extracurricular activities. Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about education, possesses excellent communication skills, and can work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Key Responsibilities Advise and support students in their academic, personal, and social development Lead and oversee various middle school clubs and activities, such as Art Club, Algebra Club, Book of the Month, Dance Club, and more Develop and implement engaging programs and events that promote student involvement and school spirit Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure student success Provide guidance and support to students in need, and refer them to relevant resources when necessary Maintain accurate records and reports, and communicate with parents and guardians as needed Essential Qualifications Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate Experience working with middle school students, either as a teacher, advisor, or in a related role Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong organizational and time management skills Preferred Qualifications Experience leading or advising extracurricular activities or clubs Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation Familiarity with student support services and resources Experience working with diverse student populations Skills and Competencies To succeed as a Middle School Advisor at Hillside Public Schools, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Strong leadership and guidance skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Strong organizational and time management skills Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Passion for education and commitment to student success Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Hillside Public Schools, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our staff.
