Key Responsibilities Provide instructional support to PreK students, assisting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lesson plans. Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Assist in preparing educational materials, managing classroom resources, and maintaining a clean and organized learning space. Build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents, fostering a collaborative and supportive community. Participate in ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education. Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized education plans, supporting students with diverse needs. Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and parents regarding student progress. Essential Qualifications Successful passage of the Para Pro Exam or 48 college credits, including three credits in reading, writing, and math, and six credits in teaching or education. Successful passage of the Bilingual Assessment (English/Spanish) Test administered through the Dual-Language Enrichment (DLE) Department. Ability to obtain a level three license issued by the NM Public Education Department. Successful passage of a background check, including an FBI fingerprint background check. Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree in Education or a related field. Previous experience working with PreK students, particularly in a bilingual or dual-language setting. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and build strong relationships with families. Skills and Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents. Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices, including child development and learning theories. Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities. Proficiency in both English and Spanish, with the ability to communicate effectively with students and families.
