IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) Developer

Rate: $85/hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) Developer to join our integration team at a Fortune 50 client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining integration solutions using IBM ACE (formerly IBM Integration Bus). This role requires deep knowledge of integration patterns, APIs, and enterprise messaging systems, as well as hands-on experience in building scalable and secure integration services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, and deploy integration flows using IBM App Connect Enterprise (v11 or v12)
• Implement message flows, sub-flows, ESQL transformations, and REST/SOAP web services
• Integrate with various backend systems such as SAP, Salesforce, and databases using protocols like HTTP, MQ, JDBC, and FTP
• Develop and manage message models using DFDL, XML, JSON, and XSD
• Build reusable assets, templates, and patterns to accelerate integration delivery
• Collaborate with architecture, security, and DevOps teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to performance, message delivery, and data integrity
• Document technical designs, integration logic, and deployment procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience in developing with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) / IBM Integration Bus (IIB)
• Strong proficiency in ESQL, Java, and integration design patterns
• Experience with IBM MQ, Kafka, or other messaging systems
• Solid understanding of RESTful and SOAP services, including OpenAPI/Swagger
• Hands-on experience with DFDL, XML, JSON, XSLT
• Experience working in CI/CD environments with tools such as Git, Jenkins, and UrbanCode Deploy
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud deployments (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• IBM Certified Developer – App Connect Enterprise certification
• Experience with hybrid cloud integrations
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture and API gateways
• Understanding of data security and encryption practices in integration
