Description Teacher In Training Infant Location: Hoboken, NJ Hours: Monday to Friday, 11 am - 6:30 pm Because our team is passionate about what they do, we are passionate about our team. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties shall include, but are not limited to, the following: • Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children in the program. • Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and storytelling. • Conduct activities that introduce math and literacy concepts. • Develop culturally appropriate programs and activities. • Establish routines and provide positive guidance. • Encourages students’ positive self-image and supports individuality, independence, and creative expression. • Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable. • Facilitate FasTracKids program with all enrolled students. • Maintains accurate and timely educational assessments and progress notes for all assigned students. • Maintains ratios at all times, keeps attendance records of children throughout the day. • Train and supervise Teacher Assistant within the classroom. • Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand. • Ensure equipment and the facility is clean, well maintained and safe at all times. • Maintain communication with parents. • Maintain demonstration logs and lessons. • Assist in planning school wide events and curriculum. • Create and update games and workshops. • Participate in parent/teacher conferences throughout the school year to discuss the child’s progress. • Attend four Saturday and four weekday Teacher in-service days throughout the school year. • Attend all weekly staff meetings and weekly teacher curriculum meetings. • Maintains confidential student, parent and/or school information in accordance to company policies. • Performs all such related and non-related duties as may be assigned by Supervisor and/or Company CEO. Requirements • Must have CDA, or Associates Degree in Education and willing to obtain CDA within first year or Bachelors Degree in Education or similar field • Must complete Montessori Certification within the first year of hire or promotion. • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certified. • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to initiate and maintain working relationships with all levels of staff.. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to multitask in a classroom setting.
