Job description: The Strategic Communications and Marketing department at West Virginia University is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Recruitment Marketing.About the OpportunityUnder the supervision of the Director of Marketing for Undergraduate Recruitment and Parents, the Assistant Director of Recruitment Marketing is a leader, thinker, collaborator, organizer, project manager, content strategist, and marketing strategist at the University. The Assistant Director produces high-quality, high-level marketing plans using specific audience insights. In addition, this position will lead the partnership with partners within the University’s colleges/schools, Graduate Admissions, and WVU Online. In addition, the individual will serve as a day-to-day project manager between key Strategic Communications and Marketing leaders and the fulfillment and production efforts. Following SCM guidelines, the position is responsible for developing, overseeing, and managing the development of printed materials, websites, text messaging campaigns, social media, advertisements, online marketing, event promotion, and any other programs that help promote a positive image for the University. This position is a key member of the SCM team, as it is one of the most important in helping to reach the University’s recruitment goals each year.We strongly believe in work-life balance and keeping time for things we love outside our work. Be the key liaison between Strategic Communications and Marketing and the colleges/schools; lead monthly collaboration meetings around SCM’s recruitment marketing strategy.
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication plans for graduate admissions to drive enrollment.
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication plans for regional recruiters to drive enrollment.
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication plans for WVU Housing to drive enrollment.
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication plans for academic units to drive enrollment.
Lead and manage marketing strategies targeting undergraduate and graduate prospects, inquiries, admits, and transactional communications.
Build and maintain strong partnerships with cross-campus stakeholders to align with messaging and strategy.
Oversee project management of recruitment-related projects in collaboration with marketing strategists.
Create additional mid-to-high priority marketing plans, as determined by the Director of Marketing and other leaders within SCM.
Assist in the implementation and optimization of Marketing Cloud for recruitment marketing efforts.
Work with the SCM Digital Team on the implementation of Marketing Cloud for different units within WVU, primarily colleges/schools communication marketing plans.
Lead a two-way texting strategy between SCM and the colleges/schools.
Play a key liaison role between SCM recruitment marketing and WVU Online.
Serve as the secondary approver for all collateral produced for recruitment marketing and communications.
Supervise the admissions social media intern, providing guidance on content strategy and brand alignment.
Project Management

Lead established creative and production teams to ensure finalized tactics are aligned to the strategies developed to meet recruitment goals.
Develop and maintain email and print analytic dashboards to measure the success of campaigns.
Ensure deadlines are met and work alongside both fulfillment and production teams to make sure necessary information is provided to lead to success.
Manage projects within the WVU project management tool; after developing marketing plans, use the available tools to help communicate with team members to accomplish tasks by appropriate deadlines.
Ensure various teams within SCM and across the University are updated with marketing plan information to help them make decisions.
Share approved marketing plans and tactics with relevant groups to connect dots and improve reach of marketing efforts.
Oversee the marketing partnership with vendors responsible for communicating with prospects. Develop strong relationships and approve/edit work, as necessary to help to reach University goals.
ROI

Develop a monthly and cycle-long report to show how marketing efforts have affected enrollment trends. Based on trends, make suggestions and alter future marketing plans.
Maintain a document that shows all finalized content – digital and print – within a recruitment cycle.
General

Fully understand and help to update the University’s mission, vision, values, goals and brand in regard to admitted students and parents.
Actively represent the SCM team in meetings, project teams, presentations, etc.
Partner with the Enrollment Management team to participate in and advise on recruitment events and experiences.
Serve as a marketing expert and strategy lead on various SCM campaigns and projects.
Serve as the point of contact and liaison between SCM and other internal clients.
Actively participate in various University committees and meetings in regard to recruitment and enrollment efforts.
Explore new and innovative technologies, platforms and applications to creatively deliver visual and educational content to relevant target audiences.
Execute presentations to SCM, various working groups, college/school communicators/recruiters, and other leadership groups.
Showcases expert level knowledge in all areas, but specifically communications and marketing, of enrollment and recruitment of undergraduate first-time-freshman, first-time transfer, international students, graduate students, and online students.
May serve as a “second in command” to the Director of Marketing when needed, particularly on topics like: budget approval, communication plan decisions, strategy development toward goals, etc.
Serves in a decision-making position for the University with marketing for graduate recruitment, WVU Online, and colleges/schools.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree
A minimum of five (5) years of related experience
Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.
