HSS and RSC Housing Research Specialist (Flex-Remote - HSO and IC)

Minimum Requirements:
• Must be able to work remotely anywhere in the United States and consult virtually twice per week (minimum)
• Provide proof of and maintain coverage for Professional Liability Insurance
• Pick how many hours a day you want to commit to working (minimum 3 and max of 8 hours)
• Must be willing to follow MN DHS’s rules, guidelines, and local laws regarding work with disabled people
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related social service field, along with 2 years of experience in providing direct social services (references required)
• Valid Driver’s License and continual proof of current insurance coverage
• Advanced skills in navigating computer systems (Word, Excel, Google Suite and other Internet databases)
• Be flexible with time management skills
• Work well independently and as part of a team.
• Be a self-starter that is motivated to learn.
• Ability to write professional case notes.
• Ability to document all assigned tasks, upon hire, with minimal support.

Job Description:
• Work remotely as an independent contractor, to complete Housing Search Only (HSO) work within the BLRS Housing Stabilization Services (HSS) and BLRS Relocation Service Coordination Targeted Case Management (RSC-TCM) Programs.
• Virtually manage a caseload of clients who are looking for a new home, by conducting weekly housing searches and research to aid the client’s assigned BLRS Housing Case Manager (this does not require contact with clients).
• Maintain open, clear, and professional communication with all applicable BLRS staff regarding housing search leads in a timely manner.
• Learn about and successfully Navigate Minnesota Healthcare programs and processes, Minnesota Cash Assistance and Federal Income Programs. Complete SMRT, CADI-Waiver, Metro Mobility, DHS applications, etc.
• Upon successful completion of the initial training period, meet a billable hour expectation of 40 hours per week (if full time)
• Report directly to both the Housing Transition Coordinator (HTC) and HSS Director, as needed for HSS clients.
• Report directly to your assigned Team Leader regarding progress made for RSC clients housing searches.
• Complete extra client or program related research tasks as needed or as directed by HTC, HSS Director, or administrative staff.
• Independently track progress of all housing searches with detailed and consistently formatted notes.
• Write and submit professional case notes every shift and submit them on time via InSync.
• Must be willing to complete housing searches for HSS and RSC-TCM as needed or directed by management.
• Assistance with filling out housing waitlist applications, as needed for your assigned HSS clients and at the request of the HSS HTC.
