This exciting Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Apprentice role offers a unique opportunity to gain invaluable, hands-on experience across multiple business units, including British Gas, Centrica Energy Storage, Bord Gais, and British Gas Net Zero. You’ll be immersed in real-world safety operations, learning from industry experts while contributing to meaningful safety initiatives.This apprenticeship provides an in-depth learning experience, combining on-the-job training with structured academic coursework at North Lindsey College. The program spans up to 2 years and 4 months, designed to equip candidates with the necessary skills and qualifications in occupational health and safety.Apprenticeship StructureFirst 2 Years: A blend of workplace experience and college-based learning at North Lindsey College, which offers an established Level 3 Health and Safety curriculum.Educational Support: The college will conduct monthly and yearly reviews to monitor apprentice progress.Professional Certification: Apprentices will work towards the National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH) alongside their Level 3 qualification through North Lindsey College.Key accountabilities of the role:Policy Development & Implementation: Assist in shaping and enforcing health and safety policies to ensure workplace compliance.Risk Assessments & Audits: Conduct thorough assessments and audits across different business units to identify potential risks.Incident Investigation & Reporting: Support inquiries into incidents and accidents, contributing to detailed reports for analysis and improvement.Training & Development: Participate in safety workshops and training sessions to enhance your expertise.Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to foster a proactive safety culture.Record Keeping: Maintain accurate health and safety documentation to support regulatory requirements.Safety Initiatives & Campaigns: Assist in crafting engaging safety campaigns that raise awareness and drive positive change.This role is perfect for someone with a keen interest in health and safety, a proactive attitude, and a desire to build a meaningful career in the field.Here's what we’re looking for:A strong interest in health and safety and a desire to pursue a career in this field.Working towards NEBOSH qualifications.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational and time management skills.Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Willingness to travel and work across various business units.5 GCSE’s (or equivalent), including Maths and English at grades C/4 or above.
