HOSPITAL CHARGE SPECIALIST-REMOTE
About the position Responsibilities • Complete daily charge capture for ED departmental chargeable medication administration and bedside services. • Ensure all appropriate billing charges are captured, documented, charged, and reimbursed for the assigned department. • Query and submit requests to physicians for additional information or clarification of procedures as necessary. • Assure charging practices fall within established compliance guidelines. • Perform other related duties as requested by HIM management. Requirements • Associates degree preferred. • One or more years' experience in Charge Description Master, Hospital Billing, Charge Capture, or Outpatient Coding preferred. • CPC/COC/CCA/CCS certification required within 1 year of hire. Nice-to-haves • Experience with medical terminology and coding guidelines. • Familiarity with Medicare regulatory guidelines.
