Title: Staff AccountantLocation: Tacoma WA Office + WFHStatus: ~ 25 hrs/wk, ongoingHourly Rate: $30 - $40/hr, commensurate with exerience. Annualzied comp range based on $30 - $40/hr and 25 hrs/wkYou come from small to mid-sized CPA firm(s) and have worked with small business owners, including non-profits.Our client is a mom-lead & founded CFO consulting and bookkeeping firm looking for a seasoned accountant with experience in bookkeeping and accounting.The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client located in Tacoma, WA! They are looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing financial information for management - accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing, bank reconciliations and month end close. The ideal candidate has extensive bookkeeping and accounting experience, loves building client relationships, has strong attention to detail, and superb analytical skills.Responsibilities
Assist in the monthly close process to deliver timely and accurate financial reporting including the preparation of monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
Assist with preparation for year-end audit, and schedule requests of external auditors
Assist with the establishment, documentation and continuous improvement of all financial processes, workflows and forms
Assist in Profit and Loss report, expenses, and account receivables
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
Prepares and processes payroll and supporting schedules
Processes AP and AR
Qualifications/Skills
Bookkeeping and accounting experience with small to mid size businesses
BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree is a plus
Additional certification (CPA) is a plus
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks online
Strong attention to detail, deadline-oriented, time management
Data entry management and analytical skills
