About the position

The Home Equity Loan Processor at SoFi plays a crucial role in the mortgage process by working directly with individual applicants to review and ensure the completeness and accuracy of loan applications. This position requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. The processor is responsible for the timely and accurate packaging of all loans originated by Loan Officers, which involves effective communication with various parties involved in the loan process. The role is pivotal in providing an exceptional customer experience, ensuring that clients feel supported and informed throughout their mortgage journey. In this position, the Home Equity Loan Processor will manage a pipeline of refinance and purchase loans, acting as the primary contact for clients and ensuring that all necessary documentation is gathered and analyzed for underwriting approval. The processor must maintain a progressing pipeline of Conventional, FHA, and VA loans, adapting to changing mortgage guidelines and setting appropriate expectations for borrowers. This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines while maintaining a high level of customer service. The Home Equity Loan Processor will also be responsible for communicating effectively with both external customers, such as clients and vendors, and internal customers, including Loan Officers and Underwriters. The ability to work well under time constraints and adapt to a constantly changing environment is essential. The processor will strive to exceed productivity expectations and provide interdepartmental support as needed, ensuring a smooth and efficient loan processing experience for all parties involved.

Responsibilities
• Provide excellent customer service and drive an overall exceptional customer experience using varying forms of communication.

• Process, manage, and act as the primary contact for a pipeline of refinance and purchase loans to meet closing deadlines and lock expiration periods.

• Maintain a progressing pipeline of Conventional, FHA, and VA loans.
,
• Communicate effectively and timely with both external customers (Clients, 3rd Parties, Vendors) and internal customers (Loan Officers, Underwriters, Closers).
,
• Adapt to changing mortgage guidelines and set borrower expectations for the mortgage process.
,
• Request, gather, and analyze documentation required from borrowers, internally, and third parties for underwriting approval.
,
• Provide interdepartmental support and adapt easily to change.
,
• Exceed productivity expectations and standards.
,
• Set appropriate expectations and points of contact with realtors and other referral sources.
,
• Understand and request documentation requirements for mortgage financing (tax transcripts, paystubs, tax returns, income calculation, etc.).
,
• Maintain high organization and proactivity to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
• 2 years of mortgage processing industry experience preferred.
,
• Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, VA, and FHA guidelines.
,
• Ability to maintain a pipeline of 30-40 loans of mixed variety.
,
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
,
• Ability to work well under time constraints and in a constantly changing environment.

• Team mentality and ability to work well as a member of a group.

• Eagerness to delight clients throughout the process and drive overall experiences.

• Knowledge of Encompass LOS.
,
• Experience with Day One Certainty Validations, HomeReady, and HomePath products.
