Role Description
The Payment Poster is responsible for posting payments and denials to patient accounts both manually and electronically. Balance, log, record deposits/batches and track completion on a daily basis.
• Posts all checks, ERAs, and credit cards to patients’ accounts accurately and timely
• Ensures payments, allowances, adjustments, denials and rejections are posted correctly
• Balances and reconciles daily batch deposits
• Identify and report any payment discrepancies
• Reviews and ensures corrections are made
• Research and clear unapplied payments
• Assists in the month-end closing by ensuring all appropriate information is posted
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years’ experience in revenue cycle in a healthcare environment
• Knowledge and understanding of healthcare EOBs (explanation of benefits)
• Basic understanding of MS Office (Excel and Word)
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• General Math Skills/Proficient in 10-key calculator
Benefits
• Compensation: $20-23 per hour
• (Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience, and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position)
