Looking for a straightforward job? We're hiring a Volunteer: Mentor An Underrepresented College Student Or Refugee To Get Their First! We believe in flexibility; this hybrid role lets you balance your time between our Remote office and home. This position requires a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas to drive success. Your contribution will be valued, with a compensation package starting at a competitive salary. Â Â GMI partners with universities in the US and around the world with a mentorship program that includes 14 one-hour structured online sessions designed to provide real value to the student as they prepare for their job search.

GMI prepares students and refugees to get their first job after graduation. This is accomplished through a structured, short-term, online mentorship with a business professional enhanced through the power of AI.
GMI was created from the Rockefeller FoundationÂs Digital Jobs Initiative to help prepare students for their first career job using a model that makes it easy for you to be a great mentor without a significant time commitment.
GMI has over 10,200 students and mentors in the program and partners with 60 colleges and youth associations that provide students in 100 countries including eight refugee camps. GMI is adding 500 new students for mentorship in the next 90 days, and we need more mentors!
We make it easy for you to be a great mentor and GMI provides everything you need to guide your student. You don't need to be an expert, just follow the mentor guide, and add your own personal experience.

Measuring Student Success
GMI has developed a method to measure program success - the Career Confidence Index. The CCI tracks
 Development of a professional LinkedIn business network
 Creation of an actionable resume/CV
 Confident and competitive job interviewing skills
 Scheduled and practiced interviews
 Accelerated job placement
The program results have been very encouraging
 37-point increase in career confidence & skills after mentorship
 74% of students worldwide get a job within six months of graduating
 82% of graduates with a job say the GMI program was important or very important in helping them get hired
