This straightforward role comes with a dependable salary of a competitive salary.   Job title: Bilingual After school tutoring 9 Company: Lake County Schools Job description : Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 15,500 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. Our District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9 ? 12th grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City. Why We Do This Work: The Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 has set an ambitious agenda for change, guided by the belief that all children, regardless of circumstances, can achieve at high levels and academic gaps can and will be eliminated with the support of teachers who deliver engaging, relevant, and academically rigorous instruction that excites students and instills a love of learning in them Dates: October 3, 2023 - May 9, 2024 2 days a week for 1.5 hours per day, 3 hours per week Location: Brookside and Washington Campus Duties & Responsibilities: 1) To provide differentiation in small group direct instruction 2) To provide instruction and support to students following a prescribed curriculum and curricular materials; implement instructional routines and learning strategies as outlined in curriculum and as presented in professional development sessions 3) To ensure that students are actively engaged and provide individual help throughout each session with the focus of student growth 4) To administer a pre-test and post-test 5) To progress monitor and record student growth 6) To submit daily attendance 7) To communicate with parents as necessary and as required 8) To communicate with classroom teacher on progress monitoring results 9) To provide student supervision as required during student arrival and dismissal times 10) To supervise students during the transition time after school and ensure that the snack provided by the District is given to students each session and supervise students at dismissal; 11) Please note: Bilingual Thursdays are mandatory. If after school tutoring sessions are held on these days, the after school tutor must secure a substitute or reschedule the after school session in order to be able to attend Bilingual Thursday. 12) To attend mandatory professional development specifically for the after school program provided after school Other Duties and Responsibilities: Any other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience Required: Illinois Professional Educators License with Bilingual Education endorsement is required plus appropriate certification and licensure required especially for High School positions Teaching experience for the grade level is preferred Salary: 3 hours per week based on current hourly wages for teachers and is grant funded year-to-year.
