Role Description
We are seeking a skilled Remote Medical Coder to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Remote Medical Coder, you will be responsible for accurately assigning medical codes to patient records, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulations. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home.
⢠Review and accurately assign medical codes to patient records using ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
⢠Ensure all codes are in compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
⢠Work closely with healthcare providers to clarify any coding discrepancies
⢠Maintain a thorough understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses
⢠Keep up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and regulations
⢠Meet productivity and quality standards set by the company
⢠Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
⢠High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
⢠Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required
⢠Minimum of 2 years of medical coding experience, preferably in a chiropractic setting
⢠Proficient in ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
⢠Strong attention to detail and accuracy
⢠Excellent organizational and time management skills
⢠Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
⢠Comfortable working remotely and using electronic medical records systems
⢠Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
Contract Details
This is a part-time, remote position with flexible hours. The contract will be for an initial period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance.
