Role Description
As
Legal Counsel
, you will serve as a strategic advisor and legal partner to the organization, supporting operations across five states and guiding leadership through complex legal landscapes.
Responsibilities
⢠Lead Contract Negotiations
⢠Manage and negotiate contracts with vendors, partners, and service providers.
⢠Draft, review, and revise legal agreements including employment contracts, NDAs, and service agreements.
⢠Ensure contracts are compliant and aligned with organizational goals.
⢠Ensure Employment Law Compliance
⢠Provide legal counsel on employment law matters across
NY, CO, NJ, CA, and NV
.
⢠Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update internal policies.
⢠Support HR and operations in resolving employee relations issues and investigations.
⢠Support Strategic Initiatives
⢠Collaborate with C-level executives and cross-functional teams to align legal strategy with business objectives.
⢠Advise on union prevention, audit compliance, and risk management initiatives.
⢠Demonstrate Leadership Behaviors
⢠Influence C-Level Executives
: Provide clear, strategic legal guidance to senior leadership.
⢠Strategic Leadership
: Anticipate legal challenges and shape proactive solutions.

Qualifications
⢠Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one of the following states:
NY, CO, NJ, CA, NV
.
⢠Minimum
5ā7 years
of experience in corporate law, with a strong emphasis on
contract negotiation
and
employment law
.
⢠Proven ability to manage complex, multi-state legal matters.
⢠Experience in
healthcare, veterinary, or multi-site operations
is preferred.
⢠Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
⢠Demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and collaborate across departments.
Schedule & Location
⢠General schedule will be Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, adaptive to the needs of the business.
⢠Must reside in one of the five states we have hospitals: New York, New Jersey, Nevada, Colorado, California.
⢠Fully remote with some travel.
Salary
⢠Annual salary of $160,000 to $225,000 plus an annual discretionary bonus.
