Role Description

AECOM’s Technology Solutions Department in our Water Business Line is actively seeking a highly motivated, talented, and creative GIS Programmer. In this role you will be able to demonstrate an established progressive career in GIS programming and Information Technology while providing technical GIS support, task management, and coordination on a wide range of enterprise GIS and digital projects and programs across the region.
• Support large-scale enterprise GIS programs
• Create, manage, validate and maintain various types of GIS data, databases and services
• Develop, deploy and manage web-based geospatial content, applications and systems
• Maintain an effective and frequent line of communication amongst team members and clients
• Ability to work with other AECOM employees to share knowledge and expand their skillsets
• Assist with more traditional GIS tasks (map making, geospatial analysis, etc) when required
• Coordinate installations, upgrades and enhancements of GIS hardware, software, and procedures with IT and GIS technical leadership
• Develop tools, scripts, dashboards, and workflows to automate and streamline mapping, data management, geoprocessing, and engineering tasks
• Provide detailed documentation of developed workflows
• Understanding of advanced services of Web GIS, Server, ArcGIS client interoperations
• Perform QA/QC review of GIS data and compile metadata

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, or related field and 4+ years of relevant, progressive GIS experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Proficient in ArcGIS Esri suite of software including ArcGIS Basic and Enterprise Server, ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro, with specific experience programming those products using the Python API for ArcGIS or ArcPy
• Experience in building applications and solutions with a variety of programming languages (C+, Python, JavaScript, HTML and .NET)
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively and proactively communicate with the project team and diverse clients
• Willingness to learn from and share knowledge with others
• Ability to learn about water resources topics such as flood modeling, coastal engineering, resiliency planning, etc.
• Understanding of relational databases and Geodatabase technology
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong desire to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Excellent time management skills
• Technical knowledge of applications like Survey 123, Field Maps, and associated dashboards
• Technical knowledge of ArcGIS Server architecture
• Technical knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop products
• Technical knowledge of geographic concepts, including coordinate systems/datums etc.
• Knowledge of spatial data management, spatial analysis, and data visualization
• Technical Knowledge of Computer Science and Programming
