HIM Representative - 1099 (64599)
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for all duties revolving around the management of patient Medical Records.
REPORTS TO: HIM Supervisor
RESPONSIBILIITES
Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
ā¢ Accurately files dictations, lab results, endoscopy/hospital reports, all faxes and any other patient related correspondence from Document Import in a timely manner; ensuring document names and dates are updated.
ā¢ Files scanned patient records received from Iron Mountain Image on Demand
ā¢ Faxes Office Visit Notes to referring providers as directed by the HIM Supervisor
ā¢ Tasks filed items as appropriate
ā¢ Ensures all documents received before 3:00 pm are filed the same day and tasked appropriately
ā¢ Prints, mails and/or faxes approved record requests to patients or other medical facilities
ā¢ Ensures that attorney records requests received are appropriately directed to the HIM Supervisor
ā¢ Works with HIM Supervisor and Office Manager(s) to coordinate off-site record storage and retrieval
ā¢ Answers emails and voicemails and returns patient calls in a timely and efficient manner
ā¢ Ensures tasks are completed daily
ā¢ Completes requests for information from other United Digestive staff and ensures that they are handled promptly and effectively to guarantee payment on patient accounts
ā¢ Abides by and promotes HIPAA compliance; maintains strict confidentiality with regards to patient information
ā¢ Meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards as set by the HIM Supervisor and Director of Clinic Operations
ā¢ Participates in staff meetings as directed by the HIM Supervisor
ā¢ Participates in marketing activities as directed by the HIM Supervisor
ā¢ Cross trains and performs other office functions as directed by the HIM Supervisor
ā¢ Any other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Required Education, Skills, & Experience
High school diploma or GED, 2-3 years of specialty clinical experience, gastroenterology experience preferred. HIM Representative must be computer literate and able to operate EHR Systems and multiple Microsoft Office applications.

ā¢ Communicate clearly with patients and coworkers through the telephone, email, and in-person
ā¢ Interpret and apply clinical and non-clinical policies and procedures
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment; travel within the Metro area required.
