Heavy Equipment OperatorStryker DES is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Heavy Equipment Operator. Candidates will report to the Stryker DES field supervisor(s) at one of our nationwide demolition projects and will help deliver Stryker DES's core values: excellence in service, commitment to health and safety and attention to regulatory compliance. The working environment will vary with each job as qualified candidates(s) would be moving from site to site dependent on our client's needs, workload and project scope. Stryker DES provides job advancement opportunities to motivated employees with additional training opportunities in lead abatement, torch/burning operations and specialized equipment operation.Stryker DES offers competitive wages based on experience and benefits package including Medical Insurance and employer matched 401k.RESPONSIBILITIES:Inspect and maintain equipment daily.Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices.Be motivated and work productively.Perform work activities in chemical, industrial and other commercial facilities.Adapt to working in hot and cold environments.Ability to perform manual labor when needed.QUALIFICATIONS:3-5 years experience with hydraulic excavators or other heavy equipmentCapable of using shear and grapple to perform demolition activities and scrap sortingA criminal background check, drug and alcohol screen will be conductedPhysically able to lift/push/pull 50 lbsAbility to work productively in personal protective equipment throughout work shift in all weather conditionsAbility to climb, kneel, stoop, bend, lift, push/pull, and/or reach frequentlyAbility to work with hazardous materialsAbility to obtain medical clearance to wear a respiratorPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Experience on large industrial demolition projects and work in chemical facilities.Formal heavy equipment trainingOSHA 10-hour or 30-hour training40-hour Asbestos training40-hour HAZWOPER trainingCDLFluent in english and spanishEMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time hourly positionTRAVEL: This is a field-based position with up to 100% travel.Competitive wages offered based on experience and benefits package including Medical Insurance and 401k.Stryker DES is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
