The EPIC Senior Manager of Accounting we are looking for: Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Manager of Accounting plays a critical leadership role within HFD's Accounting team. This individual will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure financial reporting integrity, and support month-end and year-end close processes. As HFD continues to scale its loan portfolio and expand its SPV and capital markets activity, this role will be essential in building out accounting processes, managing a team, and partnering closely with the CFO, VP of Accounting, and Controller to support the company's financial and strategic objectives. As a Senior Manager of Accounting, you will: Accounting Operations & Financial Close Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across HFD and its related entities Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis Oversee preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP Ensure proper accounting for loan portfolios, SPV structures, and intercompany transactions Team Leadership & Development Directly manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback Support hiring and onboarding of additional accounting staff as the team grows Establish clear workflows, standards, and expectations for the accounting team Serve as an escalation point for complex accounting matters and technical questions Financial Controls & Compliance Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting Support annual financial statement collateral audits Ensure compliance with applicable lender and investor requirements Coordinate with the compliance and legal team on financial matters as needed Cross-Functional Partnership Collaborate with the Capital Markets team to support investor reporting and SPV-level accounting Work closely with Treasury and Payment Operations teams to reconcile revenue, collections, and cash activity Partner with Engineering and Operations to define data requirements and ensure the integrity of financial data flowing between systems Process Improvement & Systems Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows and documentation Leverage accounting technology to increase efficiency and reduce manual processes Assist in implementing new accounting software or ERP tools as the company scales Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, plus either a CPA license or Master’s degree in Accounting 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Demonstrated ability to manage and develop accounting staff Experience supporting external audits Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills Excellent communication skills and ability to work across departments Ability to pay close attention to detail and be self-motivated Ability to multitask and excel in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft excel Preferred Big 4 or Mid-Tier audit background Experience in financial services, lending, loan servicing, or healthcare finance Experience with loan management systems and mapping LMS data to the GL Familiarity with SPV structures, intercompany accounting, or fund accounting Experience with NetSuite, or similar ERPs Background working in a high-growth, remote-first environment Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance 401k with 4% company match.
