UW Medical Center's - Montlake - Operating Room has an outstanding opportunity for a Part-time Days- Health Unit Coordinator.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • Part-time (90% FTE)
  • Days: 7:00am- 7:00pm

Primary Responsiblities

  • Thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment where multitasking and strong organizational skills are essential
  • Respond to patient and family inquiries in a timely, courteous, and accurate manner
  • Assist in maintaining a welcoming and organized unit environment for patients, families, and staff
  • Provide staff, providers, vendors and patients with an efficient system of internal and external communication, including answering phones and triaging team request
  • Work closely with the charge RN to help manage patient flow, prioritize unit needs, and coordinate admits, transfers, and discharges
  • Coordinate transportation and appropriate paperwork for patient transfers and diagnostic testing
  • Handle unit paperwork, including patient chart maintenance, consent forms, and other documentation
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and restock as needed Utilize computer systems such as Epic, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook for communication, documentation, and coordination
  • Partner with all members of the care team to prioritize patient satisfaction and exceptional care delivery
  • Other duties as assigned by the department

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent AND
  • One year of healthcare, administrative, or customer service experience OR
  • An equivalent combination of education/experience
