Health Information Technician

Key Responsibilities • Perform data entry and accurately maintain patient records, ensuring information is up-to-date and secure. • Review and validate health information to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. • Assist in preparing health information for storage and retrieval in electronic databases. • Conduct regular audits of health data to identify discrepancies and resolve them in a timely manner. • Communicate with healthcare professionals to obtain necessary documentation and clarify patient records. • Maintain confidentiality and security of health information as per HIPAA regulations. • Provide support in training staff on health information systems and compliance processes. Required and Preferred Qualifications • Educational Requirement: Associate's Degree in Health Information Technology or a related field. • Skill Requirement: Proficiency in data entry and attention to detail. • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards related to health information management. • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred. • Industry-standard certifications such as Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) are a plus. • Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
