Role

Steadfast Health is seeking a Head of Real Estate and Construction to join as an instrumental member of our team, leading and scaling our site development process—from identifying real estate opportunities to executing construction projects. This role is critical to driving and executing our growth strategy and requires a combination of strategic oversight, project management, and strong leadership to ensure the successful development of healthcare facilities that align with our broader business objectives.

Responsibilities
• Lead efforts to identify, assess, and evaluate potential sites for development, providing recommendations based on feasibility and business needs.
• Oversee lease negotiations and manage lease agreements to ensure alignment with company objectives and project timelines, acting as the primary point of contact for lease-related matters.
• Manage the full site development process, including construction timelines, budgeting, and coordination with internal teams and external contractors to ensure timely, on-budget project completion.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery of services; negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage the ongoing real estate footprint, addressing facility-related issues promptly and ensuring operational efficiency and quality.
• Partner cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure seamless processes, aligning project goals with operational, clinical, and growth needs.
• Provide strategic input on site selection and growth plans, ensuring alignment with long-term company objectives.

Qualifications
• Proven track record of success leading real estate and construction functions within a growing company.
• Extensive experience in site acquisition, development, and management, with a deep understanding of lease negotiations, construction processes, and vendor management.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage complex contracts and vendor relationships.
• Thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, consistently prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and vendors.
• Skilled at navigating and contributing to rapidly scaling organizations, quickly adapting to changing demands while maintaining a focus on long-term growth and operational efficiency.
• Passionate about Steadfast Health's mission to provide low-barrier, non-punitive, harm-reductionist SUD care.

• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to current and prospective sites, including overnight travel as needed.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and move about active construction sites, which may include exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Sufficient vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to safely navigate job sites and review construction documents and plans.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting construction zones.
