JOB TITLE: HEAD OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & OPERATIONS Location: Remote (US Required – MA Preferred) Who We Are We’re an early-stage B2B SaaS startup focused on bringing modern technology to the metal recycling industry—an essential but underserved market segment. Our technology helps recyclers close more deals, operate more efficiently, and finally ditch the pen-and-paper workflows. We’re looking for a driven, strategic operator to lead our business development efforts while ensuring day-to-day business operations run smoothly. This is a foundational leadership role with significant impact and growth potential. Role Overview As Head of Business Development & Operations, you’ll be responsible for driving revenue through new customer acquisition and strategic partnerships, while also building and refining the internal systems and processes that support growth. You’ll work closely with the founders to shape GTM strategy, scale our operations, and help lay the groundwork for our next phase of expansion. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Partnerships (Primary Responsibilities) Lead end-to-end sales efforts: identify, engage, and close new business opportunities Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy that supports our ARR goals Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, partners, and industry stakeholders Travel to and represent the company externally at events, conferences, and on-site with customers and partners Collaborate with marketing to refine messaging and outreach approaches Business Operations Design operational processes across sales, onboarding, billing, and support Maintain and improve CRM and reporting systems to ensure visibility and accountability Support cross-functional alignment between product, marketing, and customer success Drive efficiency across the organization by identifying and addressing operational gaps Leadership & Strategy Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and founding team Provide ongoing insights and feedback to inform product development and customer experience Help build out the team over time as needs evolve (e.g., sales, operations, customer success) Own revenue forecasting and performance tracking, reporting directly to company leadership RequirementsWhat We’re Looking For 5–8+ years of experience in B2B SaaS, with a background in business development and/or salesExperience working in or selling into the metal recycling industry or adjacent industrial markets Proven ability to close deals and develop lasting partnerships, especially in traditional industries Operational mindset with experience implementing internal systems and processes in a startup environment Comfortable working independently, managing ambiguity, and wearing multiple hats Nice to Have Early-stage startup experience, particularly in a founder-led sales environment Existing network in the scrap/recycling ecosystem Experience hiring or managing small teams across sales or ops Background or experience in business operationsBenefitsHigh-impact leadership role with significant ownership and autonomy Competitive base salary, performance-based commission and meaningful equity Remote-friendly, flexible work environment Opportunity to shape a company and work on real-world problems in a critical industry Originally posted on Himalayas
