At HARMAN Automotive, we give you the keys to fast-track your career.Engineer audio systems and integrated technology platforms that augment the driving experienceCombine ingenuity, in-depth research, and a spirit of collaboration with design and engineering excellenceAdvance in-vehicle infotainment, safety, efficiency, and enjoymentAbout the RoleThe Hardware Engineer/Integrator is a member of a global HW development team to realize telematics and connectivity functions in automotive IVI and telematics systems, which includes assessment of requirements and feasibility, definition of suitable concepts, implementation and verification.You will be part of Telematics Development/ Engineering Team Bucharest/Romania inside the SBU Connectivity, reporting to the Team Leader Hardware/Mechanics Engineering & Integration or/and to Director Hardware DeliveryWhat You Will DoSr. Hardware Engineer in BU Connectivity HW departmentAssist of resource planning, tracking & prioritizing in the scope of a projectDevelopment, test and verification of analog and digital functional blocks (e.g. power supplies, MCU/SoC/HU units, …) within complex hardware architectures under consideration of quality, cost, Harman Guidelines and suitability for seriesDirect and assist the bring up and debugging of new design prototypes, specifying testing parameters and proceduresFunctional SafetyDevelop HW functional blocks and systems maintaining the aspects of functional safety (ISO 26262), where applicable. Review overall HW design under functional safety aspects and guide team members to develop HW meeting the ISO26262.Creation of measurement reports and technical documentationSchematic entry and variant management.Change Management in TeamcenterSignal- and Power-Integrity Simulations to ensure that the design is respecting the given requirementsLayout review and layout in depth guidance together with the experts to ensure the correct functionality of the designAssisting in the technical requirements specification of purchased parts, of functional blocks, and the evaluation and selection of suitable supplier considering the road mapRealization of system designs, schematics and/or schematics integration of hardware applications in the range of medium to high complexity under consideration of Harman guidelinesGlobal cooperation with other departments as Construction Mechanical, Quality, Manufacturing and Software during the development processMaintenance supportTechnical support for internal and/or external staff in the industrialization of function items in an international environmentPerform technical measurements on customer site ( EMC, Thermal, functional )What You Need to Be SuccessfulMinimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering or appropriate graduation or technician)At least 3 years professional experience in the HW development and verification of analog/digital applications and standalone functional unitsExperience as a hardware engineer in the development of analogue, digital and RF circuits and systems.Experience with tools for schematic/layout realization and simulation (e.g. CAD Tools, SPICE, …) as well as Microsoft applicationsKnowledge of commonly used interfaces in telematic systems (PCIe, UART, Ethernet, I2C, I2S, SPI, USB …) appreciatedISO 26262 Experience in Automotive products is appreciatedStrong verbal and written English skillsCreativity and analytical thinkingGood communication skillsBe able to clearly explain complex technical issues and justify technical decisionsStructured and target orientated working style as well as proven ability to collaborate within cross functional engineering teamsBonus Points if You Have Familiarity with Mentor Graphics ECAD System (Schematic Entry, Layout) and Simulation Tools as HFSSAt least 3 years professional experience in the HW development and verification of analog/digital applications and standalone functional unitsKnowledge of the requirements inside the automotive area, especially for EMCWhat Makes You EligibleAvailability to work flexibly and on-demand both from the office and remotely.Willingness to travel (up to 20% of time) depending of project needs.What We Offer Flexible work environment, allowing for full-time remote work globally for positions that can be performed outside a HARMAN or customer locationAccess to employee discounts on world-class products (JBL, HARMAN Kardon, AKG, and more)Extensive training opportunities through our own HARMAN UniversityCompetitive wellness benefits“Be Brilliant” employee recognition and rewards programAn inclusive and diverse work environment that fosters and encourages professional and personal development#LI-AB3HARMAN is proud to be an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
