H-1B visa Physician seeking immigration lawyer for legal advice - Contract to Hire
I'm a British citizen who came to the US for residency training. I am currently on a H-1B visa working at a FQHC as part of my J-1 waive obligations.
I unfortunately am going through a difficult divorce, and I am on the receiving end of a civil injunction from my spouse.
The claims are baseless but until due process, I am following the injunction but wanted to get legal advice on protecting myself from immigration complications, ICE and what my rights are, what I can do to protect myself.
I already have a family attorney for legal counsel, but they did recommend I get an immigration lawyer to provide some added support and defense for the foreseeable future.
I, ideally, am looking for an immigration lawyer with good expertise for foreign physician here on H-1B visas so we can discuss sensible legal strategies and a breakdown of different scenarios.
