Group Leader - Wax Department (Midnight Shift) - Dover Casting, New Jersey

About the Role We're looking for a seasoned Group Leader to oversee daily operations in our Wax department during the Midnight Shift (Sunday Night - Thursday Night, 10P - 6:30A). As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for training and assisting operators, scheduling labor, and driving continuous improvement projects. You'll also be expected to troubleshoot and communicate product and employee concerns to supervision, as well as work in other departments based on production needs. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Supervision: Schedule work for the department, coordinate with Production Planner and other supervisors to ensure customer schedules are met, and act as a change agent/leader for new initiatives. Quality and Productivity: Ensure quality and productivity standards are maintained/exceeded, and implement methods for quality and cost improvements. Safety and Compliance: Comply with all department, facility, Corporate, and Regulatory EH&S regulations, and report all job-related illnesses and injuries. Employee Development: Participate in the performance appraisals of hourly reports, provide ratings and feedback, and ensure timely communication of employee concerns to supervision. Operational Efficiency: Manage NES/hourly reports, ensure New to the Job (NTJ) requirements are met, and actively work to develop and implement Synchronous Manufacturing. Essential Qualifications Education: High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available). Location: Reside within a 50-mile radius of Dover, NJ. Preferred Qualifications Supervisory Experience: Previous supervisory experience and/or departmental knowledge. Shop Floor Experience: Strong knowledge of department operational and working procedures. Leadership Skills: Results-oriented, able to take initiative, and demonstrate strong leadership skills. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
