Job Summary As a Group Leader in the Wax department on the 3rd shift, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, training and assisting production staff, scheduling labor, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with the Area Supervisor/Manager to ensure seamless execution of production plans, troubleshoot issues, and drive quality and productivity improvements. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Team Management: Train and assist production staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles. Scheduling labor and managing workflow to meet customer schedules and production targets. Participate in performance appraisals of hourly reports, providing constructive feedback and ratings to the Area Supervisor. Operational Excellence: Coordinate with Production Planners and other supervisors to ensure customer schedules are met and production targets are achieved. Implement methods for quality and cost improvements, driving continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure quality and productivity standards are maintained or exceeded, and address any deviations or issues promptly. Safety and Compliance: Assist in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace's Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures. Comply with all departmental, facility, corporate, and regulatory EHS regulations. Report all job-related illnesses, injuries, and safety concerns to supervision in a timely manner. Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by supervision, which may include working in other departments based on production needs. Participate in seminars and training programs to enhance supervisory, communication, and leadership skills. Essential Qualifications High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution. Legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Ability to work flexible hours from time to time with little advance notice. Results-oriented with strong leadership skills and the ability to take initiative. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Supervisory experience and/or departmental knowledge. Shop floor experience with a strong understanding of operational and working procedures. Outside leadership experience. Seminars and training in supervision, communications, and ongoing improvement programs. The work environment is a shop floor setting, requiring occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds and frequent standing.
