Position Overview
The Graphic and Website Designer is a fast pace position responsible for creating visually compelling materials that bring SisterSongās mission, campaigns, and events to life. Reporting to the Communications & Digital Strategy Manager, this role requires strong design skills, artistic creativity, and the ability to manage multiple projects throughout the year some small and quick-turnaround, others large and high-profile.
This position is rooted in collaboration and teamwork. The Graphic and Website Designer will be an essential part of SisterSongās communications team, working closely with the Communications & Digital Strategy Manager and other team members to ensure our vision is realized. While taking direction to maintain alignment, the designer will also contribute their design perspective to strengthen and elevate the teamās collective work. Projects may range from social media graphics, booth designs, and event materials to website assets and email headers that support our outreach.
Key Responsibilities
ā¢ Design digital and print assets including social media graphics, reports, presentations, toolkits, merchandise, and promotional materials.
ā¢ Design, build, and update website pages in both Webflow and Squarespace to support campaigns, events, and organizational storytelling.
ā¢ Develop website graphics, landing pages, and visual updates that align with SisterSongās campaigns and brand guidelines.
ā¢ Ensure all web designs meet accessibility, responsiveness, and SEO best practices.
ā¢ Create branded visuals for campaigns, programs, and special events (including conferences, festivals, and trainings).
ā¢ Support the Communications team with email graphics, including branded headers and visuals for campaigns and newsletters.
ā¢ Develop original illustrations and artwork to support SisterSongās cultural and activist expression.
ā¢ Ensure all design work adheres to SisterSongās brand identity and is optimized for both print and digital use.
ā¢ Manage multiple design requests and timelines to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
ā¢ Adapt to edits and feedback with flexibility, ensuring alignment with SisterSongās messaging and aesthetic.
ā¢ Maintain an organized archive of design files, templates, and visual assets.
Qualifications
ā¢ 2ā4 years of professional experience in graphic design or web design (nonprofit or movement experience a plus).
ā¢ Proficiency in both Webflow and Squarespace is required.
ā¢ Proven experience building, designing, and maintaining visually engaging, user-friendly websites in both platforms.
ā¢ Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Canva, and other relevant design tools.
ā¢ Strong artistic and illustration skills; ability to create original artwork beyond templates.
ā¢ Familiarity with email design basics (headers and graphics for common email platforms).
ā¢ Excellent project management and organizational skills.
ā¢ Ability to balance creativity with brand consistency and accessibility.
ā¢ Deep commitment to Reproductive Justice, intersectionality, and SisterSongās mission and values.
ā¢ Experience designing visuals for conferences, campaigns, and movement events (signage, program books, merchandise).
ā¢ Basic understanding of HTML/CSS and responsive design principles.Familiarity with UX/UI design best practices and accessibility standards for web.
ā¢ Bonus Skills (not required but highly valued): Experience with motion graphics, animation, or 3D design/illustration.

Additional Details
This is a 3-month temporary position with the potential to transition to a regular full-time role, contingent upon performance and the success of work produced during the temporary period.
As part of the interview process, a creative activity will be required to assess design approach and alignment with SisterSongās aesthetic. Applicants must also submit their most up-to-date design and web portfolio (including Webflow and Squarespace examples) with their application.
