Graphic Design - Communications & Content Internship

The Whitney Museum offers a paid hybrid Graphic Design internship for Spring 2026, focusing on communications and content within a leading American art institution. Your Role Here’s what you will be doing: • Assist the Graphic Design Department with various projects, including designing small projects and trimming wall labels, with project scale based on skill level • Attend meetings to understand the internal processes at the museum • Work within the Whitney’s identity system and gain production knowledge About You What you'll need: • Working knowledge of Adobe design suite and a strong typographic foundation • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited academic year program • Completion of at least one year of academic coursework; undergraduate freshmen are not eligible • Demonstrated interest in art and art history preferred but students from all majors are encouraged to apply • No previous museum experience required Compensation & Benefits • Paid stipend of $3,000 • Hybrid internship with some onsite work • Commitment of 16–21 hours per week over 10–12 weeks, totaling 200 hours • Generous support provided by Julie and Doug Ostrover for Ostrover Family Academic Year Interns Training & Development • Hands-on training through a variety of projects alongside the design team • Learning how an in-house design team operates Career Progression • Gain experience working within a major museum’s design department, enhancing skills applicable to arts and culture administration and graphic design careers How to Apply Submit a cover letter detailing your interest in the arts and culture space and what you hope to bring to the role.
