Graphic Design Assistant

The Graphic Design Assistant Temp will gain valuable experience working with Ascension’s best-in-class designers to create books and merchandise that will one day be in the hands of people across the nation. This role will support the fast-paced Ascension Books and Merchandise team by designing and creating products, organizing files appropriately, and creating marketing materials for our team. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and a problem-solver who possesses knowledge of the Catholic faith, has graphic design experience, manages their time well, learns quickly, and can offer 10-29 hours per week. This job is a temporary position with the potential for hiring. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Create marketing images for book and merchandise promotion. Collaborate with the design team to create fresh, relevant book covers from the conception stage to completion. Typeset and layout full book interiors. Work with editorial team to complete proofreading changes on products. Package final files for production/print and upload to the necessary channels. Create designs for merchandise products, as needed. Assist with other design tasks, as needed. Requirements REQUIREMENTS Available for work from October 2025 - May 2026. Has a degree in graphic design or similar field. Demonstrate experience with graphic design, particularly print design. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Keen attention to detail. Familiarity with the Catholic faith and Ascension’s content. Learns quickly. Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote, and collaborative environment. Has at least 1-3 years of graphic design experience.
