Company Description The Right Kind of Black Girl Inc. (TRKBG) is a women-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2018 by Shambria Williams. Dedicated to empowering Black women and girls from the Afrikan diaspora, TRKBG focuses on creating a world where women thrive, overcome barriers, and foster community through unity and shared progress. The organization supports individuals aged 15–60 from generational poverty through a holistic approach, offering leadership, innovation, and service opportunities. Its mission is to build inclusive social systems free of gender, racial, and economic obstacles while promoting a life of wholeness uniquely defined for every person it serves. Role Description This is a volunteer and remote Grant Writer role at The Right Kind of Black Girl. The Grant Writer will focus on researching grant opportunities, writing compelling proposals, and administering grant applications to secure funding for organizational programs. Responsibilities include identifying suitable funding opportunities, drafting and editing proposals, managing deadlines, and assisting with reports detailing grant utilization. Who We’re Looking For: • Strong writing, research, and persuasive communication skills • Experience with grant writing (or a strong desire to learn and grow in the space) • Alignment with TRKBG’s mission and values Qualifications • Experience and proficiency in Grant Writing and Proposal Writing • Competence in Grant Administration, including managing submissions and tracking deadlines • Strong skills in Prospect Research to identify potential funding opportunities • Knowledge or experience in Fundraising strategies and techniques • Outstanding written communication and organizational skills • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote capacity • Passion for uplifting and empowering communities, particularly Black women and girls • Previous experience working in a nonprofit organization or with underserved communities is a plus This is a volunteer role, perfect for someone looking to make a meaningful impact while gaining experience in nonprofit development and fundraising.
