Graduate Airport Planner (Available 2026)
Arup is a global consultancy that guides, plans, and designs the future of the built environment. They are seeking a Graduate Airport Planner to perform capacity and demand assessments, develop spatial requirements for infrastructure planning, and support various airport planning projects. Responsibilities Perform capacity and/or demand assessment for planning studies using various tools, methods and techniques Develop spatial requirements and program development for infrastructure and facilities planning CAD and graphic support with focus on terminal planning but with involvement in other aspects of airport such as airside planning and landside planning Develop planning drawings and edit architectural floor plans and sections Assist with reviews of forecast demand, including planning flight schedules and peak hour demand Collect and collate data from surveys, benchmark studies and other sources as needed in support of planning studies Assist in preparation of reports, presentations and deliverables including illustrations, tables and drawings to communicate sophisticated technical ideas through a graphical and visual approach for a wide range of clients Generate and contribute to planning and operational reports and provide advice to planning and design teams, airports and airline clients Project work includes many of the most significant sophisticated airport developments globally Analyze and support the summarization of policy and standard documents and background studies Research and analyze trends and standard processes related to airport planning Skills Bachelor's degree (required) or master's degree (preferred) in Architecture, Urban or Transportation Planning, Aviation Planning, Civil or Architectural Engineering, or other related subject areas Airport and aviation related interest and/or experience Experience and proficiency of CAD platforms (AutoCAD/MicroStation), bolthires Office applications (Word and PowerPoint) and Excel Ability to read and understand 3D spatial models, make edits to architectural floor plans and sections Logical and critical thinking capability, including the ability to produce graphics to simplify complex ideas Good written and verbal communication skills needed for team-based workingThe ability to work with high level architectural and master planning concepts Excellent planning and organization skills and attention to detail for our fast-paced environment Must be highly motivated, proactive and willing to address new challenges Must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future Minimum of 3.0 GPA or higher Benefits Health and welfare security for you as well as paid time off for rest and renewal Global Profit Share Plan (paid bi-annually) GRRSP 5% company match Company Overview Arup is an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services.It was founded in 1946, and is headquartered in London, England, GBR, with a workforce of 10001+ employees.
