Go-To Link Builder / Earned Media Outreach Partner
Hello! I’m looking for someone who can be my go-to person for link building and earned media outreach.
My primary focus right now is my startup website, Find My ADU, a site all about helping people find Accessory Dwelling Units for rent (think a super niche Zillow). To start, I need help with a project specifically in San Diego County—doing outreach to local city publications, real estate–adjacent sites, and other relevant places that would be a good fit to feature or link back to us. That's why my preference is someone in California (the ADU industry is huge here), but anyone with knowledge on the space or a network in Cali works too.
That’ll probably be the first project, but long term I’d love to work with someone I can keep coming back to. Not just for Find My ADU, but also to bounce ideas around for other freelance projects I work on (these could be in health, education, real estate, etc.). Basically, I want someone who’s comfortable brainstorming, advising and executing.
What I’m looking for:
- Someone who’s done earned media outreach before (bonus if it’s local/niche stuff, not just big generic campaigns)
- Knows link building and sticks to white-hat approaches
- Can research, find the right contacts, and pitch effectively
- Open to working across a few different industries
- Good communicator, comfortable with tossing ideas back and forth
First project (Find My ADU – San Diego County):
- Build a list of local publications and real estate–related outlets
- Do outreach + pitching
- Share results/responses/placements
Future projects:
- More link-building + outreach for Find My ADU
- Outreach support for freelance projects in other industries
- Idea-sharing + strategy convos
When you apply, I’d love to know:
- Examples of link building / outreach you’ve done before (local stuff especially helpful)
- What industries you’ve worked in
- How you’d approach something like Find My ADU in San Diego
