GIS Technician - Information Technology

Summary
Under general supervision of the GIS Manager, gathers and verifies assets for the inventory and maintenance of municipal infrastructure. This position utilizes Trimble, Leica, and/or ESRI products to obtain and process field survey data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collects GPS (Global Position System) locations for structural, land and operational assets within the City of Temple
Locates and assesses condition of infrastructure including signage, water sewer, drainage, solid waste, park, and pavement features
Integrates collected data into GIS database and responds to requests for grade elevations, locates and mapping as needed
Maintains and calibrates collection equipment
Scans and files historic construction records
Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Combination of education and experience equivalent to an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Geography, Computer Aided Design, GIS or related field
One year experience operating GPS collection devices
Ability to identify, categorize and assess various assets in the field
Familiarity with ESRI applications including Field Maps
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of experience with ESRI ArcPro desktop
Experience with ArcGIS Pro and/or AutoDesk products
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Valid driver's license
