GIS Solution Architect (Utility Network)

Position Overview
Provide enterprise-level architectural leadership for large-scale utility system implementations and integrations. Define long-term technology roadmaps and design scalable enterprise architectures aligned to utility business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop strategic technology roadmaps to guide future-state GIS and enterprise system modernization initiatives.
• Design and document enterprise architectures for complex utility environments.
• Serve as the senior technical authority, producing high-level architectural specifications and resolving system compatibility and integration challenges.
• Lead technical delivery across system implementation and integration programs.
• Manage architectural artifacts, use cases, requirements documentation, validation, and traceability.
• Provide technical direction to software development and QA teams to ensure alignment with architectural standards.
• Oversee system configuration management and maintain relevant architectural views and documentation.
• Ensure all technical deliverables are thoroughly tested and meet business and performance expectations.
• Mentor engineers across varying levels of experience.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience supporting utility consulting initiatives or large-scale technology implementations.
• Hands-on experience with Esri Utility Network (required).
• Demonstrated experience developing architectural specifications, use cases, and requirements documentation through validation.
• Experience with Asset and Work Management Systems.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS Geometric Network, Pipeline Referencing, and integrity management platforms (e.g., DIMP or TIMP).
• Strong understanding of electric or gas utility distribution operations and core business processes.
• Proven ability to lead development and QA teams in complex technical environments.
• Ability to produce and maintain structured technical documentation.
