We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Administrator/Engineer to support enterprise-level geospatial systems and infrastructure within a federal environment. This role is critical to the maintenance, administration, and performance optimization of GIS platforms, databases, and web applications. The successful candidate will demonstrate deep technical expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise technologies, scripting and automation, and high-availability system design—all within virtualized or cloud-hosted environments. • Contingent upon contract being awarded* Location: Candidate can work remotely Salary range: $110000-$145000 annually Position status: Full Time; with benefits Benefits include: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K with match, Life Insurance, and PTO KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server). • Manage geospatial databases, ensuring performance, scalability, security, and compliance with standards. • Develop, test, and deploy GIS applications, tools, and scripts to support business and operational needs. • Provide GIS technical support, training, and documentation for users across various departments. • Implement data governance and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability of geospatial data. • Integrate GIS with enterprise systems, web applications, and third-party platforms. • Coordinate and execute system upgrades, patches, and migrations. • Research, evaluate, and implement emerging geospatial technologies to improve workflows and business outcomes. • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop solutions, and deliver geospatial products and services. • Ensure appropriate access controls, backup, and disaster recovery for geospatial systems. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred). • Proven experience as a GIS Administrator, GIS Analyst, or similar role managing enterprise GIS environments. • Strong knowledge of Esri’s ArcGIS Enterprise suite (ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro). • Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle) and database administration concepts. • Proficiency in GIS scripting and automation (Python, ModelBuilder, or equivalent). • Knowledge of web services (REST, SOAP) and GIS web application development. • Familiarity with system integration, APIs, and cloud-based GIS solutions (AWS, Azure). • Strong understanding of IT security, backup, and disaster recovery practices as they apply to GIS. • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills. • Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
