Field Service Technician – Regional DispatchStatus: Non-Exempt (hourly) Department: Field ServicePosition SummaryThe Field Service Technician will support our GenSure fuel cell products currently installed at remote locations, including performing preventive maintenance and resolving breakdowns. This person will be responsible for the installation and servicing of fuel cells at specific locations. This person will also be responsible for reporting breakdown events, parts ordering, and maintenance of fuel cells at various customer locations. This position presents a great amount of exposure to customer personnel and thus requires a person with excellent technical skills as well as communication, interpersonal and motivational skills. This position will require travel for periods of time, work in both indoor and outdoor locations in all weather, and at remote locations away from common resources. This person should have strong knowledge of low voltage DC, have a mechanical aptitude, and knowledge of controls.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintenance, fueling, and service of fuel cells at customer sites.Performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to maintain customer equipment at multiple locations.Performing specialized service procedures, including field retrofits and software and hardware upgrades to existing fuel cells.Read and decipher wiring diagrams, P&ID’s and other system level documentation.Must have strong knowledge of electrical troubleshooting and be able to use electrical test equipment.Providing emergency support service to customers as required.Purchasing tools, equipment, and parts for customer service and support as required. May require troubleshooting and maintenance of high-pressure hydrogen storage, delivery and fueling systems.May include maintaining ongoing communication with customer personnel hydrogen suppliers regarding aftermarket support of fuel cells.Providing regular feedback to management regarding fuel cell performance and field maintenance issues.Completing administrative duties & documentation, including incident reports, service logs, inventory maintenance and site and system documentation.Exhibiting and enforcing safety procedures in the field or customer sites.Travel as required for business needs; expected to drive safely and to adhere to all traffic lawsAlways Represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactionsPerform other duties as assigned.Education and ExperienceMinimum high school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical courseworkThree (3) or more years of direct experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshootingFormal training and education may be also considered in lieu of direct experienceMust possess a valid driver license, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicleClass A Commercial Driver’s License with Hazmat endorsement preferred and will be required to obtainMust be able to lift 75 pounds on regular basis unassistedGeneral mechanical aptitude is requiredComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levelsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCreativity in solving technical problemsAbility to work independentlyUncompromised dedication to qualityExceptional time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasksPunctual and reliableTechnician must provide own standard set of tools – specific fuel cell tools to be provided by Plug power
