Games Designer
About the position Responsibilities • Participates in the creation and review of original mathematical models and new game themes for online Real Money Games, with an emphasis on slot games. • Oversees and participates in the creation and review of existing land- and social-first math models and game themes as they're adapted for the online Real Money Environment. • Develop and review new progressive & bonusing systems and meta game features. • Partner with other game designers in conducting and verifying mathematic calculations. • Produce or review documentation for regulators describing reel strips and math models. • Creates and/or reviews reel strips and combination sheets, including relevant simulation or calculation programs in your language of choice (C++ / C# preferred). • Partner with artists and animators to create unique environments and gaming concepts. • Maintain current knowledge of house style documents. • Understand market requirements, identify trends and opportunities, and assess the competitive environment to aid in the development of Aristocrat's iGaming product portfolio. • Monitor the competitive landscape and measure product performance to identify key areas of improvement. • Partner closely with other Aristocrat studios & game designers to optimize and execute their games for the RMG market. • Other duties as assigned. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field, or equivalent experience. • 5+ years of experience in Game Design & Mathematics with strong understanding of slots (land or online). • Strong understanding of mathematical concepts in gaming. • Proven ability to create game concepts and math models. • Proven ability to create and manage game simulation and/or calculation programs. • Proven ability to work in teams, with managers and other disciplines. • Consistently meets deadlines and expectations when shipping expectations to other departments. • Ability to develop award-winning, next-generation games. • Expertise in different gambling concepts and styles. • Proven ability to deliver product on schedule. • Strong communication skills. • Possess high integrity and exceptional work ethic. • Foster mutual trust and respect, and is an excellent team player. • Initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance. • Comfortable with ambiguity; welcomes the challenge of developing new ideas and approaches in a semi-unstructured environment. • Ability to both work independently and be team-oriented. • Meets challenges consistently and confidently with energy and drive.
