We're a fully remote, asynchronous team spread across multiple continents, focused on crafting extremely polished digital board games that people truly love.About The RoleAs a Game UI/UX Designer at Colonist, you will craft engaging, intuitive, and accessible interactions that bring our digital board game to life. You’ll design fluid animations, seamless interactions, and compelling UX that keep players immersed, leading to significant increasing in our game completion rates. Your work will directly impact millions of players, shaping how they experience strategy, competition, and fun.What You'll DoWork closely with a dynamic, cross-functional team to drive design decisions that enhance the user experienceIndependently create high-quality UX/UI designs that set a new standard for creativity and usabilityDive deep into player behavior, using data and research to refine game interactions and make every session more engagingConduct user research and interviews to gather insights, refine strategies, and implement feedback effectivelyLeverage tools like Figma and other cutting-edge design platforms to ideate, prototype, and refine designsRequirements5+ years of experience as a Game UI/UX DesignerProficiency in Figma or similar design toolsStrong analytical skills in player behavior and feedback interpretationExtensive experience conducting user interviews and usability testingExpertise in interaction and motion design, animation principles, and 2D asset implementationStrong understanding of game mechanics across various genres and accessibility best practices (e.g., colorblind modes, UX clarity)Solid grasp of graphic design principles and game sound designNice to HaveFamiliarity with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal)Basic scripting knowledge for prototyping (e.g., C#, JavaScript)Our Values at ColonistWe strongly adhere to these values in our team - if these resonate, then you’ll love working here!DependabilityWe're self-driven players who deliver without needing supervision.
